Top free agent reportedly heading to WWE

Good pickup for WWE?

As the WWE continues to put an emphasis on what has been a top-notch women's division, it appears the roster might be getting even deeper. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, top independent wrestler Candice LeRae is likely headed to wrestle for the promotion.

This is, of course, barring any unforeseen calamities.

By way of Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer:

Candice LeRae (Candice Dawson Gargano, 32) is on the radar. She hasn't been signed yet but is going through the process which means unless it falls through she'll be off the indie scene.

A gifted wrestler, many might remember LeRae from her performance during the Mae Young Classic. Shayna Baszler defeated LeRae in the quarterfinals of that tournament.

Only 32-years-old, she has already appeared on WWE programming outside of the Mae Young Classic. Back in April, she made her debut in NXT, competing in a battle royal to determine the new top contender for the NXT Women's Championship.

Obviously, she did not win that match.

For some other random info: TJ Perkins is credited as being one of the men who trained her, Johnny Gargano is her husband, and she's been wrestling since 2002.

This is, if true, a great get for an already deep women's division. Let the rumors of her appearing at the Royal Rumble begin!
