MMA fighter wins using WWE Walls of Jericho submission

BREAK DOWN THE WALLS!!!

MMA fighter Jonno Mears, a lifelong wrestling fan, won his recent fight against Aaron Jones in spectacular fashion.

Mears locked jones in a pro-wrestling style Boston Crab in a very similar variation to WWE legend Chris Jericho's Walls of Jericho. The video of the submission, which has since gone viral, includes an announcer referring to the move as both the "Walls of Jericho" and the "Bolton Crab" while the fighter sticks his tongue out mid-move.

"When I took him down, he turned to all fours quick, but I managed to chin strap him and was going to try the Peruvian necktie," Mears told MMAFighting.com. "But he tucked his chin, so I jumped to his back, then the crab came into my head. Then, during the scramble, I was going to turn into mount and give it up, but I seen he covered up during me striking him, so I thought why not I just try? And I was shocked myself I got a hold of his legs in a scramble."

Jericho has since commented on the video, crediting the severity of the professional wrestling maneuver.

Fortunately, Jericho seems pleased with the tribute, which means Mears will avoid making the "List of Jericho" for stealing the superstar's moves.
