2018's top recruit narrowed down his school choice to these two powerhouses

Those two are the heavy hitters in the area too!

Trevor Lawrence is the top quarterback recruit and top overall recruit in the class of 2018. He confirmed to 247Sport's Rusty Mansell that he has narrowed his choices to Georgia and Clemson, and plans on visiting both schools toward the end of July.

The Cartersville, Ga. native likes the Tigers because of the nice receiver recruits they've racked up, but Georgia isn't lacking recruits either according to the top prospect.

"They (Clemson) have some good receivers coming in there, they always recruit well at that position," Lawrence told Mansell, "but Georgia is also recruiting good, they both are going to have players where ever I decide to go."

Lawrence says that the Dawgs have been trying to lure him with its recent recruiting success —- they had the No. 8 class in 2016 —- and it doesn't hurt that Georgia is a little closer than Clemson as well.

"Just it is in-state, they want me and they need me, they feel like I can help build the 2018 class around me hopefully, because they are loading up in 2017," Lawrence said of Georgia. "They are hoping if they get me that will help more in the 2018 class."

Lawrence is a 6'6", 193-pound (as listed now) pro-style quarterback who has offers from over 20 other schools.
