376-pound, No. 3 overall DT shuts down recruitment and will stick to hometown commitment

LSU snags top in-state prospect

Four-star defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin has opted to end his recruitment and stay home to play his college football.

The 6-3, 375 pound native of Crowley, La. took an official visit to LSU over the weekend and was so impressed with what he saw that he's decided to honor his nearly two-year old verbal commitment to the Tigers class of 2017.

"I'm not taking anymore official visits," he said. "My experiences this weekend on my official visit to LSU, I liked what I saw and I want to stay at home. "
