A monster former NHL player laughed as he crushed Justin Bieber into the boards

A head taller and a hundred or so pounds heavier, and he took no mercy.

A big weekend in hockey started Saturday with the 2017 All-Star Celebrity Shootout, a fun event for current and former players and fans.

Hockey fanatic and music superstar Justin Bieber played for Team Gretzky, and there came a point in the contest he may have wished he hadn't suited up.

Chris Pronger, 6'6' 220 pound monster who spent 18-years in the NHL, slammed the 5'9, 145 pound Bieber into the boards like a rag  doll —- and laughed while doing it. Pronger has been out of the league since 2011, but he clearly got a kick out of crushing Bieber.

As you might expect, Twitter showed no mercy. The great hockey announcer, Doc Emerick, tweeted:

And fan sites got in on the action:

Bieber shook it off, finishing with an empty net goal and an assist, as Team Gretzky beat Team Lemieux 5-3 in the game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The NHL All-Star game is today.
