Former NFL star Fulton Walker, who scored the first kickoff return touchdown in Super Bowl history, has passed away at the age of 58.
According to wvmetronews.com, the former Dolphins and Raiders standout went into cardiac arrest while working on his farm in West Virginia.
"Fulton passed away of cardiac arrest and in fact, he was on his tractor on his farm cutting hay," close friend Rick Pill said Thursday.
Walker played for the Miami Dolphins in a 27-17 loss to Washington in Super Bowl XVII in 1982, registering a 98-yard kick return for a touchdown. He totalled 190 yards in that contest, as well as 93 kickoff return yards in Super Bowl XIX, giving him a still-standing Super Bowl record of 283 total career yards on kickoff returns.
Walker was also a an All-Conference baseball player at West Virginia University in addition to starring on the football team. He played seven seasons in the NFL.
