After just 7 weeks on the job, a top staffer is leaving his position for an in-conference rival

It hasn't been the best start for the Willie Taggart Era in Oregon.

Willie Taggart's new staff at Oregon is off to a tumultuous start. He's had assistants who have been fired, suspended, and now one is leaving for another job.

Jimmie Dougherty was hired as the Ducks' receivers coach on Dec. 23, but he is leaving to join the staff at Pac-12 rival UCLA. He previously served as an offensive analyst at Michigan. According to Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman, Dougherty will be the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator for the Bruins.

Dougherty was a passenger in the car with co-offensive coordinator David Reaves when Reaves was arrested for a DUI. Reaves later resigned from his position.

Dougherty, who played quarterback at Missouri, and he served as an assistant with Michigan, San Jose State, Washington and San Diego.
