All-American DB Dee Delaney officially has transfer destination

Delaney has been an FCS All-American in each of the past two seasons.

One of the biggest remaining grad transfers in college football has made his decision.

Miami announced on Tuesday that Citadel grad transfer Dee Delaney would be joining the Hurricanes' squad for the 2017 season.

From Miami's own press release on the transfer:

Delaney is eligible to play immediately as a graduate transfer from The Citadel, where he was named FCS All-American each of the last two seasons. As a senior in 2016, Delaney recorded 35 tackles, six interceptions and eight pass breakups. He also helped The Citadel win back-to-back Southern Conference championships in 2015-16.

Delaney will add some much needed defensive depth for Miami, as the Hurricanes lost two top members of their secondary — Rayshawn Jenkins and Corn Elder — to graduation. Delaney should be able to plug in immediately, giving Mark Richt and the coaching staff another year to develop some of the great recruiting talent that they are bringing in.
