Amid Kiffin reports, a new name has emerged as LSU OC frontrunner

This could be huge for LSU.

With Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin potentially heading to Houston Alabama will need a new offensive coordinator. The Crimson Tide may even have one already on its staff in offensive consultant Steve Sarkisian. The former Washington and USC head coach joined the staff earlier this year to rehab his image after being unceremoniously fired from USC for an alcohol issue.

Sarkisian has prove that he can certainly install a potent offense and with a recommendation from coach Nick Saban he would pretty much be guaranteed the job. However, Kiffin's departure might open the door for the OC position somewhere else.

Kiffin was believed to be the frontrunner for the Houston head coaching job and the LSU offensive coordinator position so if he doesn't go to Baton Rouge, it looks like Ed Orgeron will take the next best thing. Any staff steal from Alabama is a good one as it potentially weakens the choke hold Alabama has on the SEC West.
