Brodarious Hamm, a three-star offensive lineman who committed to Auburn in 2016, announced Thursday that he is cancer-free eight months after he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma:
Hamm found out he had cancer just a month after he signed with Auburn. Head coach Gus Malzahn backed Hamm and his family immediately, per 247sports:
"Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. He's a fine young man with a fine family," Malzahn said in March. "He's got a great attitude. Very unfortunate. ... We're going to be there for him. He's going to get through this. We expect him to be with us after a short period of time after he gets healthy."
Hamm's focus has been getting healthy, and now his attention will shift to getting on the field for the Tigers.
Hamm is a 6'5", 320-pound recruit who turned down offers from Alabama, Georgia, Louisville, LSU and Tennessee to attend Auburn.
