Baylor has fired its second football staffer in less than a month

He had only been on the staff about a month.

The Baylor University football team just can't stay out of the spotlight, and for all the wrong reasons.

With the stench of sexual assault allegations still hanging heavy in the air, yet another member of Baylor football staff has been fired, this time for sending lewd text messages to a teenager, according to a report by KWTX-TV.

DeMarkco Butler, the newly hired Associate Director for Football Operations, is out. Butler joined new head coach Matt Rhule's staff last month, coming over from Western Illinois University, where he served as director of football operations.

The TV station said the teenager in question is an adult under Texas law.

David Kaye, Baylor's Director of Athletics Communications, released a statement to news organizations that said. "DeMarkco Butler is no longer employed by Baylor University. As a personnel matter, we have no further comment."

Butler is the second football staffer who has lost his job in the last month, Brandon Washington, Rhule's newly hired Assistant Strength Coach, was fired after he was arrested in a prostitution sting in early February.
