Baylor QB Seth Russell has been cleared for football activities

The senior, in just his first year as a starter, accounted for 2,104 yards and 29 touchdowns and 402 yards before getting hurt.

It's been a little over three months since Baylor quarterback Seth Russell was ruled out for the season after sustaining a neck injury in the fourth quarter against Iowa State on Oct. 24. Two days after the Bears' 45-27 win over the Cyclones, the team announced Russell was out for the season. On Monday Feb. 1, Russell took to Instagram to announce that doctors cleared him to participate in football drills.

According to the Dallas Morning News Baylor's training staff clarified that Russell is now free "to progress through weight workouts and to begin throwing and running." Russell has not been cleared for any kind of contact and will not be going through full workouts at this time.

Russell, in just his first year as a starter, accounted for 2,104 yards and 29 touchdowns and 402 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. Russell will be a senior during the fall of 2016.
