Baylor's former AD got another job and the announcement was so incredibly tone deaf

Liberty University ignores Baylor rape scandal for new hire.

Liberty University just hired former Baylor Athletic Director Ian McCaw for the same job, despite his being embroiled in the sexual assault scandal that rocked the Waco campus last spring.

And the school's statement announcing McCaw's hire suggests they couldn't care less about his checkered past.

McCaw resigned from his post in May at the height of the turmoil surrounding former head coach Art Briles and his mishandling of sexual assault allegations involving some of his players. Then about two weeks ago it was revealed that both McCaw and Briles turned a  deaf ear to one particular student-athlete's claims that she was gang raped by some of the team's players.

"My vision for Liberty is to position it as a pre-eminent Christian athletic program in America and garner the same type of appeal among the Christian community as Notre Dame achieves among the Catholic community and BYU garners from the Mormons," McCaw said in a statement.

Apparently Falwell and Liberty are much more interested in Briles' track record of success from an athletics stand point, a tradition he brought to Baylor even though it came at the expense of some the same values you would think another Christian school like Liberty would hold so dear.
