Remember when Michigan State was good at football?

2016 has not been kind to Mark Dantonio and the Spartans, and rock bottom likely arrived on Saturday. Michigan State allowed a staggering 54 (!) points to Northwestern in a wildly embarrassing home loss in East Lansing and, with that, the Spartans are 2-4 on the year. It appears that things can’t get much worse for a team picked by many to finish within the top three of the Big Ten, but for now, they are buried accordingly in this week’s power rankings.

Elsewhere, Ohio State cemented itself as the top team in the league with an overtime win over Wisconsin, and the Badgers shouldn’t be punished for taking one of the best teams in the land to the brink. Nebraska and Iowa also held serve and the team from Ann Arbor was conspicuously quiet during a bye week.

Oh, and Purdue fired its coach. Football!

At any rate, here are this week’s Big Ten power rankings. Keep in mind that this is one man’s opinion and, well, you might hate it.
