Cal says Jordan Spieth ruined college golf and he has officially lost touch with reality

Cal is way off base on this one.

John Calipari is the harbinger of "one-and-done" era in college basketball and he has no problem admitting to that. However, to say that Jordan Spieth ruined college golf because he was also a one-and-done at Texas is absolutely ludicrous.

That statement misses a key point in that college basketball makes a whole lot more money for schools and is actually aired on national television. College golf gets its occasional tournament on the Golf Channel, but it is not nearly the animal that college basketball has become as far as recruiting and resources.

So let's calm down a bit, coach and just keep going after your one-year recruits and winning championships. You don't have to rationalize what you do. You promise kids a chance to win a championship at the college level and a chance to get to the next level of play by getting drafted to the NBA. Those are all the facts you need to defend yourself from the people who think you're doing the sport a disservice.
