Chip Kelly could reportedly be a consideration for this NFL juggernaut

Here's one position Chip Kelly would be perfect for

A number of teams are in hot pursuit of Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to be their new head coach, and it seems like just a matter of time before the offensive coordinator leaves New England.

That scenario brings with it a lot of speculation as to who might be next in line to lead what's arguably the league's most potent offensive machine.

And with Chip Kelly recently let go by the San Francisco 49ers, his name makes perfect sense—-his four unspectacular years as an NFL head coach notwithstanding.

Boston Globe reporter Ben Volin seems to think so, too.

Here's a little background on that: Back in 2012 after McDaniels had wrapped up a one-year stint as offensive coordinator with the St. Louis Rams, he was something of an offensive assistant during the Pats playoff run that year.

But it's hard to imagine another guy that's deadly serious, unemotional and kinda cold, a Bill Belichick clone essentially, being New England's next OC.

Stay tuned. It'll be fun to see how this thing shakes out.
