Coaching legend reportedly set to join Lane Kiffin at FAU

He's been all over the NFL and college football world.

Lane Kiffin continues to add to his coaching staff at FAU, this time in the form of his father, coaching legend Monte Kiffin, per Sporting News.

"A source told Sporting News that defensive guru Monte Kiffin is expected to assist his son in some capacity as Lane Kiffin enters his first season as Owls head coach.

Exactly what role Monte Kiffin will have and whether it will be a paid or even official position wasn't immediately known."

Monte joins his son Lane (head coach) and other so Chris (defensive coordinator) as the family reunion begins its takeover of Florida.

Monte Kiffin served on Lane Kiffin's staff in Tennessee (2009) and USC (2010-12).

He's also held jobs at Nebraska, Arkansas and North Carolina State. He also has coached in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Lane Kiffin has coached for the Oakland Raiders, University of Tennessee, USC and was an assistant under Nick Saban at Alabama.

Monte Kiffin is 77 years old.
