College football starter reportedly hospitalized in alleged hit-and-run accident

Florida's starting center T.J. McCoy was reportedly hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after he was struck by an alleged drunk driver at 3 a.m. Friday morning, per 247sports.

McCoy was on a scooter with his girlfriend when they were struck by a vehicle. McCoy reportedly remains hospitalized and a 22-year-old woman was arrested for hitting them and fleeing the scene. According to the report, there was noticeable damage to her front bumper and a broken windshield.

The woman reportedly admitted to hitting the scooter after having numerous drinks out on the town.

McCoy's father shared the following on Facebook.

McCoy transferred from N.C. State and is a legacy player at Florida, after his father played for the Gators on the 1991 SEC Championship team.

McCoy started the final four games for Florida last season.
