College GameDay set gets heated as crew discusses players sitting out bowl games

This topic has clearly caused some discord across college football.

ESPN's College GameDay is usually a joyous and fun scene on Saturday mornings. It wasn't that on this Saturday morning — at least for a few moments — as the crew got visible heated at each other when discussing players sitting out bowl games with no injuries.

The conversation was sparked by two of college football's best players, LSU's Leonard Fournette and Stanford's Christian McCaffrey, electing to sit out their respective bowl games ahead of preparation for the 2017 NFL Draft. The conversation was further heated as players like Dalvin Cook, Jake Butt, and DeMarcus Walker — surefire NFL Draft prospects — participated in a thriller of an Orange Bowl on Friday.

The crew had some disagreements, notably former Buckeye Joey Galloway expressing his opinion that players shouldn't be sitting out at all. He and Rece Davis spent several moments trying to talk over each other during in heated tones, which is something that is definitely unusual on the College GameDay set.
