Cowboys may already have an idea who they’ll replace Tony Romo with behind Dak Prescott

If and when the Dallas Cowboys move on from Tony Romo, they will need another quarterback on the roster to backup Dak Prescott.

According to ESPN's Ed Werder, there is "mutual interest" between the Cowboys and Josh McCown, who was recently released by the Cleveland Browns.

The Cowboys have yet to make a decision on Romo, and McCown recently said he was going to take his time during the free agency process.

"I'm gonna take my time," McCown said. "Having played this long, for me right now it's being in the right situation. As we talked to teams and had some initial conversations, everyone is waiting to see how and where the quarterback market goes."

There was interest between the Cowboys and McCown last season after Romo was injured, but Prescott's performance swayed the Cowboys from trading for McCown.
