Cowboys specialist was left at home and the team had a very odd reason for doing so

That's potentially an odd reason to not get brought to a game.

Dallas Cowboys return specialist Lucky Whitehead didn't play against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football for violating team rules, but it was a very peculiar rule he violated.

According to Clarance Hill Jr. of the Star Telegram, Whitehead was left at home for a since-deleted Snapchat he posted earlier this morning.

Apparently the Snapchat was of Whitehead and a female, and someone in the Cowboys organization saw it and the decision was made to suspend him.

However, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Whitehead was suspended for missing a team meeting, which is something he apparently does regularly.

With these conflicting reports, this is certainly an issue to monitor this week. Either way, the Cowboys will be without a dynamic option in the return game. Whitehead is averaging 23.8 yards per kickoff return and 8.8 yards per punt return this season.
