Decision has been reached on confusing Chad Kelly NFL Combine situation

Finally, a resolution

There's no reason for Chad Kelly to smile.

The former Ole Miss quarterback won't attend the NFL Combine — that's apparently the final decision — and will now have to showcase his skills at his pro day. The news comes via SEC Country.

The NFL originally offered Kelly an invitation but then rescinded it, citing a rule that says prospects convicted of certain felonies or misdemeanors can't participate in the Combine. Kelly has a history of issues, including being dismissed from Clemson in 2014 and being involved with an altercation with Buffalo police.

Kelly's agent, Vance McAllister, said he was considering sending Kelly to the Combine even though his invitation had been rescinded. But the agent said his appeal had gone unanswered, go Kelly will stay home.

Kelly, the nephew of NFL Hall of Fame QB Jim Kelly, only played nine games last season because his season was cut short by a knee injury. Still, he through for 2,758 yards and 19 touchdowns. Several scouting reports, like this one from Walter Football, rank Kelly as the fifth or so best signal calling options coming out of college.
