Details emerge on devastating injury suffered by potential Top 10 NFL Draft pick

Just awful what happened to him.

Former Washington cornerback Sidney Jones was considered a consensus first-round pick, and a potential Top 10 selection until last week when he suffered a devastating Achilles injury. Jones has since undergone surgery and ESPN's Adam Schefter is now reporting that Jones will be back to running in four months.

Jones reportedly suffered the injury on the last drill during Washington's Pro Day, and his Draft stock has been dropping ever since.

Jones was part of a fantastic Huskies secondary that help lead Washington to their first College Football Playoff appearance. Jones had really emerged in his three seasons at Washington as a cornerback with "lockdown" like talent, which led to many — including all four NFL.com experts — to have Jones going in the upper half of the first round. NFL.com's Bucky Brooks even had Jones going as high as No. 10 to the Bills.

In his Washington career, Jones had 146 total tackles and nine career interceptions.
