ESPN's FPI has an overwhelming pick to win the SEC West

ESPN currently favors this team to take the SE West by a large margin

Back in May, ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI) had an undefeated LSU team coming out of the SEC West to face East winner, undefeated Tennessee in the SEC championship game.

The worldwide leader in sports took that prediction a step further today by forecasting LSU as an overwhelming favorite win the West. Based on their latest FPI numbers, ESPN has the Tigers as having a 52 percent chance to win the conference followed by Alabama at 22 percent, Ole Miss at 14 percent, Texas A&M at 6 percent and Auburn at 3 percent.

For the uninitiated, the network's FPI ratings system sees overall team strength as the best predictor of how a team will perform through the season. The results are based on 10,000 computer simulations and are updated daily.
