ESPN’s top college basketball reporter becomes latest victim of company layoffs

This is a huge loss for the sport.

ESPN had a massive wave of layoffs on Wednesday including some well known personalities and people who had been with the company for decades. It seems that one of the network's top college basketball reporters was also let go. The news was reported by one of his own colleagues in College GameDay's Seth Greenberg.

Katz had been with ESPN since 2000 and worked as both a reporter and on-air personality. He was great at breaking news in regards to team injuries, coaching decisions and general NCAA goings on. The college basketball world will miss him roaming sidelines and getting scoops, but someone should nab him before the next season because he is just too good to stay unemployed long.
