Ezekiel Elliott responds to report that he was detained by police on Friday

Was he detained or wasn't he?

Dallas Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott looks like he might have gotten in trouble back in Columbus, Ohio this weekend. While he's from Alton, Ill., he did go to Ohio State so he likely was spending some of his offseason there. According to eyewitnesses that spoke to TMZ, Elliott was held by police for a little bit before being let go. Here's the video that was captured:

Elliott wanted to make it quite clear that he was not in trouble nor was he detained:

This is the quote from the TMZ eyewitness that likely prompted the response:

Ezekiel Elliott's night was abruptly interrupted by cops after they detained and questioned him ... before letting him go.

An eyewitness tells us the Cowboys star was on his way into The Social bar Friday night in Columbus, OH when suddenly, and for unknown reasons, a cop lit a flashlight on his face and detained him for about 4 minutes ... before letting him go.

TMZ says it reached out to the Columbus police, but has not gotten a response.
