Fan tragically dies following terrible accident at Monday night's Denver game

The Broncos played the Texans on Monday night.

A man fell to his death following the Broncos-Texans game Monday night at Sports Authority Field in Denver after falling over a railing and plummeting some 60 feet.

According to the Denver Post, the incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. as 36-year-old Jason Coy was leaving the game. The medical examiner's office reportedly confirmed he died of blunt force trauma after tumbling over a stairwell railing in the stadium's north end. Emergency personnel responded to a 911 call for help from the area near Gate 5, and Coy was rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead Tuesday afternoon.

Denver police said a non-traffic accident investigation is under way.

"Our thoughts are with the injured fan, and we are in the process of learning more about this incident from the Denver Police Department's investigation," the department said in a news release.
