Fans should be salivating at this $35 a month nearly comprehensive sports package

YouTube is betting it can make inroads in the sports streaming space

YouTube is coming out with a streaming package that could tempt sports fans to cut the chord.

YouTube's new steaming service, YouTube TV,  will offer a package that includes the heavyweights of sports programming - ESPN and several of its affiliated stations (ESPN 2, 3, U, and News); the SEC and Big 10 Networks; Fox Sports 1 and 2; and the NBC Sports Network.

The news was first reported by Bloomberg.

Sports Illustrated said YouTube doesn't (yet) have a deal in place with Turner broadcasting, so that means the NBA, NCAA tournament and Major League Baseball games that appear on that network won't be available.

There are other channels that come with the YouTube service, including CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox, and its affiliated channels.

But for the sports fan, this is an intriguing option.
