As usual, the Oklahoma Sooners have a stellar recruiting class in the works for the Class of 2018. However, the sudden retirement of head coach Bob Stoops immediately kickstarted speculation that the Sooners could have a hard time holding on to some of their top-flight prospects. With that in mind, five-star commit Brey Walker took to Twitter and seemingly reaffirmed his pledge to Oklahoma, even under the leadership of new head coach Lincoln Riley.

Walker has been committed since November 2015 (when he was only a sophomore) and the 6'7, 320-pound offensive tackle was a massive get for the Sooners. At the moment, the rising senior from Moore (Okla.) ranks as the No. 18 overall prospect according to the 247Sports composite and that also places him as the No. 3 offensive tackle and best player from the state of Oklahoma.
With a long way to go until National Signing Day, no one on the Oklahoma staff is likely comfortable with the assurances that they can hold on to every prospect. With that said, having a five-star product from within the state is never a bad thing and Brey Walker is a very important recruit as a result. Now, Lincoln Riley and company can begin making sure their bonds are strong elsewhere.
