ESPN's No. 1 overall recruit has made a commitment

Wow!

This commitment made some waves in the recruiting world.

ESPN's No. 1 overall recruit Trey Smith (6-foot-6, 310 pounds, Jackson, TN) made a big statement on Tuesday when the five-star offensive tackle announced his commitment to Tennessee.

Smith is a consensus five-star, and he gives Tennessee an enormous boost after a rough few weeks in recruiting. Smith had recently visited Ole Miss, Ohio State, and Alabama before a visit to Knoxville last week clinched his decision.

Tennessee now has 24 commitments for their 2017 class, and this one is likely to boost them a few spots in the ratings after Smith's commitment gets factored in.
