Florida and LSU were locked in a classic rivalry game. With the Gators backed up to their own end zone, they decided to get gutsy and had this awesome play from the game that almost set a new Florida record. Quarterback Austin Appleby hit freshman receiver Tyrie Cleveland for a ridiculous 98-yard touchdown:

And here’s the replay showing how close he was to the sideline without actually touching it:

That was one yard shy of Cris Collinsworth’s record of a 99-yard touchdown he threw against Rice in 1977 as a freshman. The pass went to Derrick Gaffney back then before Collinsworth made the transition to wide receiver the next three years of his career.
