It's official: Florida State lands defensive tackle Shavar Manuel

Shavar Manuel was verbally committed to Florida up until Wednesday morning.

The speculation surrounding four-star defensive tackle Shavar Manuel (6-foot-4, 290 pounds, Bradenton, Fl.) finally was confirmed when he announced he would be signing with Florida State using a Bleacher Report video. The announcement, for anyone who was keeping up with Manuel in the last few days, isn't all that surprising. On Tuesday, one day before NSD, he told a reporter that despite still being committed to Florida, it was 50-50 for him between UF and FSU.

Manuel on Wednesday morning then formally decommitted from the Gators via his Twitter account.

"It's been a long journey but through the whole process, there's just been something about Tallahassee that's been in my heart. Florida State is the best fit for me, on and off the field," Manuel told Noles247.

"I appreciate all the schools that recognize my talents, but there was just something about FSU, on this last official visit, I just felt like I fit in perfectly."

Florida State will most likely finish with a top five class, and could even wind up having a top three one. Be sure to follow all things #NSD2016 with our live, National Signing Day page by following this link. FanBuzz will continue to keep you updated all day.
