Florida State QB Sean Maguire seen walking without a boot post-surgery

Sean Maguire will miss the season opener against Ole Miss on Sept. 5.

Just over a week ago, Florida State fans were given the news that they would be without their starting quarterback for the season opener against Ole Miss on Sept. 5. Redshirt senior Sean Maguire underwent surgery last week to insert a screw in his foot. Just roughly one week after surgery, Maguire was seen walking into Florida State's practice on Monday without a boot on the foot he had surgery on — he just had some tape.

Warchant's Ira Schoffel added that Maguire was "walking really well too. Very little limp at all." The quarterback's recovery time at the time of the surgery was 4-6 weeks, and he could be closer to the four week range judging by this.

With Maguire out, head coach Jimbo Fisher is expected to start redshirt freshman Deondre Francois. According to Fisher, Francois had an impressive scrimmage last week, throwing three touchdowns and just one interception. However, seeing Maguire walking well on his foot so soon after surgery should be positive for the 'Noles.
