Former Auburn RB Jovon Robinson throws coaching staff under the bus after dismissal

Yikes.

In a rather shocking move, Auburn dismissed running back Jovon Robinson on Wednesday. Robinson — Auburn's top returning running back option — was dismissed after missing classes and team meetings, and reportedly for being undisciplined in general.

Robinson fired back heavily on Thursday, stating to AL.com that he was stereotyped and disrespected by the coaching staff.

"Everything about (the) Auburn coaching staff is not what it seems," Robinson told AL.com. "Just because I don't walk around with (a) fake smile, they feel like they (can) say or try to force anything."

Robinson also followed up with a quote indicating that he's not alone in feeling this way.

"The football players are not happy with this."

We don't know all of the facts in this siutation, as Malzahn has since said that the matter is between him and Robinson. Regardless of who is right and wrong, though, this is not the best way for Robinson to be handling this. Even if he feels he has been wrong, airing dirty laundry isn't going to help at this point.

This is the second season in a row that Auburn has dismissed one of its top players, as the team dismissed star wide receiver Duke Williams last year. Some are even saying that the two incidents may be somewhat related, as Malzahn may be hoping to restore discipline to a program that let Williams get away with too much for too long.

Robinson rushed for 639 yards and three touchdowns in eight games last year.
