Former college football player dies in tragic accident at age 30

This is truly horrific.

Former defensive lineman Jeremy Geathers was a standout at UNLV in 2006 and 2007 and ended up making the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2008 before going on to have a long career in the Canadian Football League and Arena Football League. However, at the age of 30, his life has tragically been cut short.

He was killed as he tried to cross a street and was struck by a limousine early Saturday morning in Las Vegas according to a report from News 3 Las Vegas. He reportedly was not at an intersection or marked crosswalk when the incident occurred. The Clark County coroner has not determined a cause and manner of his death yet with an autopsy still to be performed.

In his two years at UNLV, Geathers recorded 11 sacks, 16 tackles for loss, 72 total tackles and four forced fumbles to go with one scoop and score.
