Former MMA fighter James Armato has been accused of assaulting and strangling his girlfriend, Gina Antonelli, and faces strangulation, attempted murder, assault and battery charges and assault and resisting arrest charges, per Fox 25.

According to the report, the couple got into a fight as she was driving home, and Armato began choking her, causing her to black out and crash the vehicle. Despite crashing, Armato was reportedly found choking Antonelli at the scene and he allegedly tried to fight a firefighter following the accident.
