Former NFL scout compares surprising QB to three-time Pro Bowler

Really now?

With the NFL Draft coming up in April, there is plenty of discussion of which players will end up in the top ten as there seem to be only a few guys guaranteed to land there. Myles Garrett and Jonathan Allen are two of them with some of the rest being more fluid depending on what San Francisco does at No. 2.

Most people believe they will take a quarterback, but which one remains to be seen. Most people are split between Mitch Trubisky (UNC) and Deshaun Watson (Clemson), including former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah. While he has Trubisky at the top of his QB list he believes that Notre Dame's DeShone Kizer has the most upside and could be the biggest wildcard at the position.

Jeremiah joined FOX Sports's Bruce Feldman on his Audible podcast to talk about what he sees in Kizer and he even threw out a comparison to a three-time Pro Bowler. From the FOX Sports post:

The old scout said Kizer's 2015 film is more impressive than 2016 Trubisky or 2016 Watson but this season's work — without a vertical threat like Will Fuller or a stud tackle like Ronnie Stanley — raised some concerns about his field vision. But Jeremiah said the 6-4, 228-pounder has the highest ceiling and even compared him to former USC star Carson Palmer.

That's some seriously high praise considering Palmer was basically a can't-miss prospect when he was coming out of USC and has turned into a solid pro. It's also interesting that he's so low on Watson and doesn't consider the Alabama manhandler a top-10 caliber player.
