Former Pro Bowl cornerback has reportedly already heard from “four to five teams” after his release

It doesn't seem like he'll be out of work long.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released former Pro Bowl cornerback Alterraun Verner on Thursday, but Verner has already received interest from four to five teams.

During an appearance on SiriusXM NFL radio, Verner thanked the Bucs and said he had received interest from several teams.

"I appreciate the Bucs doing this so early so I can get a head start on free agency. Four to five teams have expressed interest," Verner said.

Vernad didn't specify what teams were interested. The 28-year-old corner has 15 interceptions in seven seasons, but he only started three games in 2016.
