Former SEC All-American, current NFL player arrested yet again

A report says he's currently in jail.

Former Florida Gators and Baltimore Ravens safety Matt Elam was arrested for domestic battery and grand theft.

According to TMZ Sports, Elam's girlfriend called the police after Elam allegedly fought with her over a cellphone. Police arrived to the Delray Beach house about 4 a.m.

Elam allegedly tried to grab the cellphone out of his girlfriend's hands because he said he paid for it, and the two fell to the ground while fighting over the phone. Elam then took ran off on foot, and his girlfriend had cuts on her finger and foot, according to the TMZ report.

Police found Elam shortly thereafter and booked him into jail. He is being held on a $4,500 bond in Delray Beach.

This is Elam;s second arrest this year. He was also arrested on drug charges in February after police say he was found with over 100 grams of marijuana.

Elam was an All-American safety at Florida and 2012, and he was selected with the No. 32 overall pick in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

Elam recorded one interception and forced one fumble in three years with the Ravens. He is currently a free agent.
