Four-star ATH Tyjuan Garbutt set to pick between two schools on Friday

An intriguing four-star prospect has a big decision and it will be made soon.

Tyjuan Garbutt was once verbally committed to play for the Virginia Tech Hokies and he might just end up there after all. The four-star prospect from Fredericksburg, Va. has a big-time decision to make and, according to Ryan Bartow of 247Sports, that decision will be announced on Friday.

The report indicates that Garbutt will be choosing between Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh for his collegiate destination and, at this point, all signs point to the Hokies as the favorite. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound senior was pledged to the Hokies for five months previously and, with the work that Justin Fuente is doing on the recruiting trail, it is never a surprise when Virginia Tech takes the lead on an in-state prospect.

Garbutt is ranked as a top-300 prospect nationally according to the 247 composite and the same formula places him at No. 9 overall when it comes to prospects from the state of Virginia. As such, this would be an exciting pick-up for the Hokies if they can secure the pledge, while Pitt's Pat Narduzzi undoubtedly wants to spoil that party by adding a top-flight prospect for the future.

Fuente and Narduzzi will probably battle quite a bit for prospects in the coming years but, in the immediate, the commitment of Tyjuan Garbutt is the prize.
