Four-star DE Donovan Jeter decommits from Notre Dame

Jeter committed to Notre Dame in September.

Notre Dame just lost one of their biggest commits of the 2017 recruiting class.

Four-star defensive end Donovan Jeter (6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Beaver Falls, PA) committed to Notre Dame in September, but it looks like he is already having second thoughts. On Tuesday, Jeter announced his decommitment from Notre Dame.

Jeter mentions that the Irish are still his top option, but this opens the door for one school in particular: Pittsburgh. The Panthers were hoping to keep Jeter in-state before his commitment last month, and now they will have another shot to lure the four-star recruit to campus.

The four-star would be a huge boost to Pitt, who currently rank 39th overall at 247Sports' recruiting rankings. He would become their second-highest rated commit if he does make the flip from South Bend to Pittsburgh.

Jeter was also considering Alabama, Tennessee, Penn State, and Ohio State before his previous commitment.
