Class of 2016 South Carolina commit Brandon Mcilwain has been showing why he’s such a highly-coveted recruit lately.
The four-star quarterback out of Council Rock North High in Newton, Pa., opened his senior campaign with five touchdowns and more than 400 yards of offense in a losing effort last week, then turned around and did it again Friday. But this time, his 374 yards of total offense and three touchdowns led his team to the win. The dual-threat star passed for 214 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns. McIlwain also returned an interception 65 yards for a touchdown as a safety.
Last year as a junior, McIlwain posted 3,200 yards of total offense and 38 touchdowns on his way to being named the country’s no. 6 dual-threat quarterback. Considering the state of things in Columbia, Steve Spurrier has to be drooling over this guy.
