Four-star OT Pierce Quick spurns recruiting powerhouses to stay in-state

That's how you keep the top talent in the state.

There are a few schools that have really gotten going in the 2019 recruiting cycle, but Alabama had not been one of those programs. That was up until Saturday when the Crimson Tide landed four-star offensive tackle Pierce Quick.

The Trussville, Ala. native grew up a huge Alabama fan so this was pretty much a no-brainer for him once he was offered a scholarship. The 6'5", 285-pound tackle is ranked as the No. 14 OT in the class of 2019 by 247Sports and the No. 2 recruit in the state. He also had offers from Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Oregon, Tennessee and others.

He gave 247Sports a few reasons why Alabama was his choice in the end and it sounds like he won't have any chance of decommitting.

"First off, they're the best team in the nation every single year," Quick said. "They have one of the best programs. Second off, I grew up a fan. This is what I've wanted since I was five years old. Since I was five years old I've wanted to play for the University of Alabama, and for that dream to finally come true, it's just incredible."

Pierce went on to say that he would be a huge recruiter for this class and that he already has several guys in mind that he wants to get to Tuscaloosa so he can play with them.
