Virginia Tech lost one of their top commits early on National Signing Day, as four-star wide receiver Tahj Capehart (5-foot-10, 178 pounds, Virginia Beach, Va.) announced that he was flipping from the Hokies in order to join Maryland’s 2017 recruiting class.
Capehart had committed to Virginia Tech back in August, but he had been trending in Maryland’s direction as National Signing Day approached.
Capehart — a four-star per Rivals and ESPN — is part of what in an enormous 2017 class for the Terps. Maryland has 29 pledges so far for this recruiting cycle, which is a great showing for D.J. Durkin in his first full year in recruiting.
