Four Texas Rangers prospects are under investigation for an alleged sexual assault on an underage teammate

Bad news for some up and coming Texas Rangers prospects

Four players at the Texas Rangers academy in the Dominican Republic are close to being charged by authorities there for their roles in an alleged sexual assault. Major League Baseball is reportedly also investigating.

Accused of sexually assaulting six underage teammates are Panamanian Guillermo Villarreal, 18, and Venezuelans Yohel Pozo, 19, Adrian Pernalete, 18, and Rougned Jose Odor, 19—-the younger brother of a Rangers player in the MLB who goes by the same name.

According to an ESPN report, the alleged incident took place in October at the Texas Rangers' facility in the Dominican town of Boca Chica, and police became aware of the assault after the suspects reportedly posted an image of it on social media. The victims names are being withheld because they are underage, the report said.

With this being an ongoing investigation, we will have no further comment at this time."
