Gators trying to flip five-star OT from SEC foe

This could get fun for the SEC rivals.

Calvin Ashley is the nation's No. 2 offensive tackle and he's already committed to Auburn, but that doesn't mean there isn't time to flip him. Florida is trying to do just that and has a pretty good chance considering he's in there backyard. Ashley plays for First Academy in Orlando and he took an official visit to UF this weekend.

The 6'6", 330-pound tackle was very complimentary of the school and its new facilities. "I really like Florida and the facilities. It's just beautiful. They've got a great indoor facility they just built," said Ashley. It sounds like Florida may have a leg up because of the attention they gave the big man too.

"Coach Mac, we sat down and talked about life and just football and being here at Florida, new things they've got going," he said. "And they want to win a national championship.

"I got to sit down and talk to the coaches more, got to go through plays and stuff, got to actually talk to the whole coaching staff individually. It was a great thing to do with my parents."

Ashley also spent time with offensive line coach Mike Summers and felt wanted by Florida after Summers expressed how badly UF's o-line needed his huge frame. It also seems that Ashley and his family like the idea of him staying close to home and with Orlando being only two hours drive away that could certainly help Florida.
