The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party takes place on the same weekend every year — Halloween weekend — so naturally that means people book their hotel reservations and make their plans for that weekend well in advance. It’s been suggested by some that the game should be moved a week ahead of time since both Florida and Georgia have byes that week (October 22). That would allow Florida to play the next weekend against LSU who has bye that weekend.
However, Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity went on The Paul Finebaum Show and made it quite clear that the game will not be moved for anyone’s convenience for one simple reason:
So it looks like the options just became more limited for LSU and Florida to get their game rescheduled later this season. There are a couple ways the schools can get it done. They can buy out their respective opponents on November 19 to create an open date for their game or the SEC Championship could potentially be moved back a week to make way for their game.
