Things can get goofy in the NFL,  but this takes it to a new level. Consider this:

Gus Bradley — the head coach Jacksonville just fired — could be headed back there. And, it all has to do with  Anthony Lynn.

This is the NFL’s version of a soap opera.

Here’s the deal: Lynn, the interim head coach for the Buffalo Bills, is the flavor of the month and teams are lining up to interview him for their top coaching job. Even though Lynn has said he wants to stay in Buffalo,  he’s interviewing in San Francisco Wednesday, and the Rams also want to interview him.

Now, there’s another development:

This is where is gets weird and awkward. Bradley, it seems, has hitched himself to Lynn’s coattails.

So let’s play this out. Lynn gets the Jacksonville job and, as odd as it may seem, the team allows him to bring back the guy they just fired — a guy who not all players are crazy about. Cornerback Jalen Ramsey said he felt “caged” because the defensive scheme didn’t allow him to be a playmaker. Tashaun Gipson, the team’s free safety, also publicly expressed frustration.

and that’s not all:

Assuming that Bradley would handle the defense on Lynn’s team — Bradley was the Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinataor from 2009-2012 — he would work with players who don’t like the schemes the team ran under his direction.

This could be a lot of fun.
