Hero of the Rose Bowl is no longer on the roster

Yikes.

USC was one of the hottest teams to end the season and is now considered one of the hottest to start the 2017 season. The Trojans topped off the season with a 52-49 win over No. 5 Penn State thanks to an incredible 46-yard kick from Matt Boermeester as time expired.

However, it would seem that Boermeester is not on the roster as of now. The kicker was suspended from the team early last month for an unspecified "code of conduct" issue and it seems that the issue is ongoing as it is currently unclear if he will return to the team.

USC spokesman Tim Tessalone gave a statement at the time of his suspension that read, "While this student code of conduct issue is being investigated, the student will not be representing the university as a member of its athletic team."

The rising senior Boermeester went 18 of 25 on field goal attempts and 53 of 54 on PATs in 2016.
