Houston reportedly has "mutual interest" in shocking head coaching candidate

This would be a big hire for Houston.

A lot of names have been tossed around for the Houston head coaching job. Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin and West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen have been mentioned, but it now looks like the Cougars could be turning their eyes to a former national title winning head coach.

According to Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle, Houston reportedly has "mutual interest" with former LSU head coach Les Miles.

Houston is really one of the better jobs in the country right now. It doesn't have the pressures of a Power 5 job, but it does have significant recruiting power and a lot of talent on its current roster. Also, with Tom Herman gone, Houston has a lot of money it can spend on a new head coach.

Miles and Houston could be a good fit. Miles is a good recruiter, and the school would give him a chance to reinvent himself. If he can actually reinvent himself is yet to be seen, but Houston would give Miles one of the best chances available.
